Passing time by donating Rice!

I just came across this site and thought others might be interested.

About FreeRice

FreeRice is a sister site of the world poverty site, Poverty.com.

FreeRice has two goals:

  1. Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
  2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.

Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your vocabulary can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.

Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide. Thank you.

Helpful to others and helpful to myself (as English is not my mother tongue) and a fun way to pass time (at least for me)! =)

I love this site. =) If we can feed the world so simply, then why not?

I love the new layout. Did you change this recently or am I just really oblivious?

Free Rice is so much fun. A coworker told me about it awhile ago and I spent almost a whole day on there! It's fun and you help feed people, whats not to love?

I have been addicted to this "game" for months! Glad to see I'm not the only one!

wow, and I thought MY sister’s and my fights were violent! We once dressed up in my dad’s old hockey gear and fought it out… but no one ever landed in the hospital!

I love that free rice site—great source of procrastination ;o).

Romina - Absolutely. It's a win-win situation!

Jennifer - Thanks =) I was a little bored at work and made a new header. I did one with maaany food pictures at first, but the calming effect of that hill, nature the way I wish it would be like everywhere, convinved me otherwise =p And see, I even put a ribbon on the tree, ha ha!

VeggieGirl & Lindsay - Ha ha, I'm glad I finally found it, too =)

Katie - It was just an accident, but for my parents it was the perfect "see what happens when you two don't get along?" example =p

Ha ha, gotta love the imagination of two kids in big hockey gear!

Another great charity site is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It donates money to children in need through World Vision.

Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com
